UM Shore Regional Health: Physician Employment Opportunities on Maryland's Eastern Shore

UM Shore Regional Health's three hospitals – UM Shore Medical Centers at Chestertown, Dorchester and Easton -- offer a combined total of 214 licensed beds:

  • Located in Talbot County, UM Shore Medical Center at Easton is a 132-bed acute care facility that includes the CARF-accredited, 20-bed Requard Center for Acute Rehabilitation; a Primary Stroke Center; a Birthing Center; the UM Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology; and the Breast Center.

  • UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester is a 49-bed, acute care facility located in Cambridge. Through Shore Behavioral Health Services, the hospital provides comprehensive mental health and substance abuse programs on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

  • Serving primarily Kent and Queen Anne’s counties, UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is a 31-bed acute care facility with a newly renovated state-of-art Emergency Department, surgery services and multi-specialty inpatient and outpatient services.

UM Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers 98 beds for long-term care and inpatient rehabilitation. UM Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown operates 24/7, treating 14,000 patients a year for acute illnesses, injuries and trauma as well as minor injuries. It is one of only three freestanding emergency facilities in the state of Maryland and offers 14 treatment beds.

With the mission of Creating Healthier Communities Together, UM Shore Regional Health also offers a host of outpatient facilities and services serving the 170,000 people in the five-county region. These include UM Shore Medical Pavilions at Dorchester, Easton and Queenstown; UM Shore Convenient Care at Denton; and varied outpatient diagnostic and rehabilitation services and physician practices in Cambridge, Chestertown, Denton, Easton and Queenstown.

  • UM Shore Medical Pavilion at Queenstown, Ambulatory Surgery Center: December, 2014

  • UM Shore Medical Pavilion at Dorchester – Houses Shore Pediatrics-Cambridge and provides multi-specialty consultation and treatment space for cardiology, neurology and sleep medicine. Completed: November, 2014

  • UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, New Emergency Department, Completed: September, 2014 

  • UM Shore Convenient Care at Denton. Completed: October, 2013.
