As chief medical officer and senior vice president, Medical Affairs, for UM Shore Regional Health, William (Bill) Huffner, MD, MBA, FACEP, FACHE bridges the medical staff, administration and board of directors, helping to create collaboration and alignment among all three. Dr. Huffner joined UM Shore Regional Health as chief medical officer in December, 2013 after a long career with Arnot Health, Inc., based in Elmira, New York. He last served Arnot as chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs for Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St Joseph’s Hospital. A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Huffner for many years served as a member and chair of the New York State Emergency Medical Advisory Committee, the Southern Tier Regional Emergency Advisory Committee and other initiatives dedicated to the advancement of emergency medical services.
