Tomorrow's leadership. Here today at UMMS.

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the entire organization, I want to thank you for your interest in learning more about the University of Maryland Medical System. Here, physicians like you have the opportunity to do exceptional work. This is a multi-hospital system that has genuine impact throughout our State...and beyond. Our 13 outstanding hospitals and numerous ambulatory centers not only offer you a choice of locations—from urban to suburban and rural—but also a choice of practice settings, including academic, teaching, and community.

More

Our collaboration allows us to provide patients in our community hospitals a level of highly specialized care normally reserved for much larger facilities. For example, physicians at the Tate Cancer Center at Baltimore Washington Medical Center work with members of the Greenebaum Cancer Center program at University of Maryland Medical Center, encouraging a continuous sharing of best practices. The relationship also allows patients being treated at Tate to be transferred for specialty care, diagnostic procedures, or clinical trials more expeditiously.

The system also collaborates on implementing technology to support quality and patient safety. Hear from Mark Kelemen, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Informatics Officer, about the system-wide initiatives that will take integrated care into the future.
